Even if you can’t own one, we can help you play the biggest role in their lives

We are excited to launch our first ever live webcam which is located at our moorland rescue centre in Yelverton.

The camera shows the inside of our main barn which features four crew barns. During the day you may be able to see horses and ponies being groomed, receiving care from our vets or farrier and taking part in rehabilitation or training sessions with our expert grooms.

The camera is available to watch 24/7 so our wonderful supporters around the world can view our rescued horses and ponies receiving our lifelong, life changing, loving care and support. The best time to watch the webcam is during the day when the horses and ponies are most active. There may be limited visibility at night when the sun has gone down.

Our webcam may be subject to technical faults. If you would like to report a fault with the webcam please contact us at supporters@mareandfoal.org. We aim to resolve all faults as quickly as possible.

Ponies at the Yelverton Life Long Sanctuary

Daily Schedule:

8:00am – The horse care team feeds and administers medications for the horses and ponies who stay in the barn overnight. These ponies are then taken out to the field for the day.

8:30am – The ponies who live out full-time are given their breakfast in the field and the team works on poo picking.

10:00am – Our outside residents come into the barn for training, medication, grooming, and enrichment activities such as time with a treat ball or snuffle mat.

2:30pm – 3:00pm – The horses and ponies are swapped back round, and those who stay indoors overnight return to the barn to do their own training exercises and receive medication if needed.

Ava

Our team worked round-the-clock to make sure Ava was safe and had everything she needed, including a teddy bear for company.

Sprite

Sprite, a bay moorland mare, was born in 2011 and when she arrived at the Sanctuary, she was completely unhandled and very fearful of human contact.

Riley

Following another full veterinary assessment, dietary plan and essential dental work Riley has steadily gained weight. She is now much stronger and healthier.

Razzle and Shadow

Razzle and Shadow were among 26 horses taken from North Devon Equine Rescue in Barnstaple where they had been left to suffer in dirty stables and without enough food and water to stay healthy.

Flo

Flo is a 20 year old, 11.3 hh, Dartmoor Hill Pony who arrived at the Sanctuary in 2003 and has now been in our care for 17 years.
